Online therapy
Flexible scheduling and convenient video sessions for men, women, and couples throughout CA & TX.
No matter where you live in California or Texas, therapy can come to you.
You’re already balancing a busy schedule — making time to go to therapy can be hard to do. Whether you are in San Diego, Sacramento, Huston, Austin, or a small town in between, online therapy gives you access to the support you need, when you need it.
Online counseling is a great option for those who:
Live in an area with heavy and unpredictable traffic
Travel frequently or have challenging schedules (shift work, on call)
Want couples counseling for a long distance relationship
Have limited childcare options
Live in remote areas or feel more comfortable at home
-
Sessions take place via a HIPAA-secure platform, much like Skype or Zoom. Prior to your appointment, a private link will be sent to your email. At the scheduled time, simply click the link to enter our virtual therapy room. Sessions are 50 minutes and available weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly according to your needs and goals.
If you are interested in couples therapy but have a long-distance relationship, one of you travels, or you’re unable to be physically together, each of you can join sessions separately from wherever you are.
Online therapy is all about offering you the best support possible in the way that’s most convenient for you.
-
All you need for online therapy sessions is a private space, a device with access to a camera and microphone, and a strong wifi connection. A laptop with a webcam or a cell phone both work well. And if you are able to stream Netflix (or similar services) without issues, then your internet will be able to handle video therapy sessions. Headphones can also help reduce audio interference and create a more connected experience.

It is understandable to wonder if online therapy is as effective as in-person therapy. Are you losing out on any benefits this way? Fortunately, studies show that you’re not: online counseling is equally as effective as face-to-face counseling in treating depression, panic disorders, and anxiety disorders (link).
In my experience, many clients have found online counseling even more comfortable than traditional in-person therapy. Since sessions happen in a familiar environment, it’s often easier to open up and feel at ease.
If you’re still not sure if online therapy is right for you, schedule a free consultation with me and we can discuss if this format can help meet your needs.
Note: Online counseling is not appropriate for those actively in crisis. If you are experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or someone else, please call the suicide hotline 1-800-273-8255, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
The length of time we’ll spend together will depend on your needs as a couple. Some couples come in to address a specific issue while others find that they stay with me for a while as their lives evolve and circumstances change.
