Intensive couples therapy

Empowering couples to restore connection and improve intimacy through dignity, respect, and deep understanding.

You both know something needs to change—and soon.

It feels like you’ve tried everything to restore the connection you once had with your partner. You’ve read the books, tried the “strategies,” and even been to therapy before, but nothing seems to stick long-term.

You’re not ready to give up yet, but still can’t help but wonder if this relationship can still be saved.

You may be feeling:

  • Exhausted from the near-constant conflict and fighting

  • Resentful of the division of labor at home, like it’s all “on you”

  • Unsupported or unheard by your partner

  • Disconnected emotionally and sexually

  • A sense of urgency to change things because you know they can’t stay this way for much longer

Through Relational Life Therapy and deep, intensive sessions…

We’ll create a roadmap to getting more of what you want out of your relationship.

How it works

Relational Life Therapy couples intensives are designed to help you improve as separate individuals and a unit.

  • Therapy intensives help couples go deeper and get results faster. They’re for the couple who is really ready to address the problems they’re facing and take responsibility for their contributions to the dynamic. That way, we can get right to work and stay in that work until we’ve achieved legitimate change.

Rather than stopping and starting in 1-hour blocks every week, intensives allow you to set aside a larger chunk of time to do the deep work necessary to get to the root of the issues you’re experiencing in your relationship. This is a cutting-edge, research-backed approach to therapy. Our work together will be focused, in-depth, and personalized to you & your goals.

  • I customize every intensive package to my clients’ needs. Often, couples will need a number of intensive sessions across multiple days. We’ll start with a consultation to get a better understanding of your dynamic and needs. Then, we’ll craft a custom package that includes:

    • Pre-Intake: You’ll complete a detailed intake packet sharing about your background, current challenges, and goals.

    • Intake Session: We’ll meet for an in-depth, 50-minute intake session to review additional information and create a detailed plan, including goals and outcome measures to ensure we can accurately track your progress.

    • Plan: I’ll craft a customized plan leveraging talk therapy, Brainspotting, and Relational Life Therapy to help you achieve deep healing.

    • Intensive Session(s): We’ll meet for the selected number of sessions. They can occur in-person in my office in Roseville, on-site at a vacation rental or other venue within 15 mile radius of Granite Bay, or online anywhere in CA and TX.

    • (Optional) Post-Intensive Session: To measure your progress, debrief, and ensure you both feel well-equipped to integrate your new insights into daily life, we can meet for a 50-minute post-intensive session.

  • I want your intensive to fit your lifestyle and needs, so I design them with as much flexibility as possible. Your package can be customized according to:

    • Session length: 3-5 hour segments

    • Number of sessions: 1, 2, 3, or 4-day formats

    • Frequency of sessions: Consecutively or spaced out weekly

    • Location: In-person in Roseville, on-site at vacation rental or other venue, or online in CA or TX

Couples intensives start at $1,725. Schedule a free consultation to discuss which options are best for you.

    • A detailed intake questionnaire

    • An interactive intensive treatment workbook (much like a personal workbook to collect your thoughts before, during, and after)

    • A customized plan incorporating Relational Life Therapy, Brainspotting, and talk therapy suited to your goals and desired outcomes

    • Specialized support every step of the way

My approach

Relational Life Therapy (RLT) is a couples therapy model focused on conflict resolution, personal responsibility, and full-respect living. It involves both individual and couples work, encouraging each person to work on personal issues that influence the relationship as a means of healing the connection as a whole. RLT is known for its straightforward style—sometimes that means I’ll challenge you directly about behaviors or patterns. While this can be uncomfortable, it’s a powerful element of the growth and restoration process.

Marriage is a cycle of harmony - disharmony - repair. Often, partners don’t know how to repair, and the cycle never has a chance to reset—you become stuck in disharmony. I’ll show you how to repair and come back into harmony effectively. As you master that skill, you and your partner can naturally begin to live and move through this cycle, without getting stuck in conflict and disconnection.

Here’s the thing: most therapy teaches you skills. In our work together, I’ll help you deal with the part of you that won’t actually use those skills.

That means encouraging you to take accountability for your role in relationship issues and then equipping you with the emotional intelligence and insight it takes to actually put what you learn in therapy into action in your day-to-day life.

The relationship you want is possible—and it doesn’t have to take months or years to get there.

Let’s reimagine what the future has for your relationship.

Frequently asked questions

  • The base price for couples intensives is $1,725. It includes:

    • 50-minute intake session

    • 1 x 3-hour intensive session

    • (Optional) 90-minute post-intensive integration session

All intensive packages are customized for each couple. Often, couples benefit from longer sessions and/or greater frequency (2, 3, or 4 days). We’ll determine which format is best for you after our consultation.

  • A Therapy Intensive is an accelerated form of therapy designed to help clients go deeper and get results faster. Instead of attending therapy one hour per week for a year, why not carve out a few days for Therapy Intensives? It’s a cutting-edge approach to help people feel better faster.

In fact, many people think of Therapy Intensives like a retreat. For those few days, you can unplug, take time off work, get a babysitter, or even stay in a hotel. This time is completely dedicated to you so you can focus on healing, reflecting, and reconnecting.

  • Therapy Intensives are perfect for couples who are ready for relief now. If you’re ready to see things change in your life and your relationships but don’t want to wait for that to happen next year - a Therapy Intensive may be right for you. If you have a specific topic, trauma, or stressor that you want support with - this can be the focus of your Therapy Intensive. The dedicated time will be customized specifically to you and your goals.

  • I welcome clients from all over! If you’re interested in traveling to the Roseville, CA area for our intensive, we’ll complete your intake session upon your arrival and prior to beginning the intensive sessions. I offer sessions in my office in Roseville or on-site at vacation rentals within a 15-mile radius of Granite Bay. Contact me to learn more.

  • Therapy Intensives are more effective and efficient than normal 50-minute therapy sessions. Typically in a 50-minute session, there are at least 5-10 minutes of “check-in” at the start and usually, 5-10 minutes spent on “closing up” or “checking out” at the end of a session - Leaving only 30-40 minutes for deep therapeutic work. However, a 3-hour Therapy Intensive allows for 2.5 hours of depth work. That’s the equivalent of five 50-minute sessions or more than a month of therapy - in a single day!

  • Great question! This depends on your goals for the Therapy Intensive. I offer individual sessions in 3-5 hour lengths and packages in 1, 2, 3, or 4-day formats. I customize all packages according to my client’s needs, so we can decide what length and frequency is likely to be best for you. Click here to schedule a free consultation.

  • Absolutely! Therapy Intensives work very well as an adjunct therapy. I would ask that you sign a Release of Information so that your current therapist and I can collaborate/coordinate to best serve you.

  • Therapy Intensives are not covered by insurance. However, if you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance company may reimburse a portion of the costs. It’s best to call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card to learn the details about your specific plan. I am happy to provide some helpful questions to ask your insurance during our consultation call.

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking your Therapy Intensive. The remaining 50% is due on the day of the 1st Intensive Session.

  • Sessions are available online across CA or TX, in person in my Roseville, CA office, or at a vacation rental or other venue within 15 miles of Granite Bay.
