Intensive couples therapy
For couples who are done tolerating the same dynamic and ready to find out what's actually possible with dignity, respect, and deep understanding.
You both know something needs to change, and soon.
You're both capable people. You've solved harder problems than this one. And yet here you are — stuck in the same dynamic, having variations of the same conversation, watching the distance between you grow in the margins of an otherwise successful life.
Somewhere along the way the relationship got put on the back burner. Not because it doesn't matter, but because there was always something more urgent. Until now.
You already know how to solve hard problems. You just need the right support to solve this one.
You may be realizing:
The relationship has been running on fumes for longer than either of you wants to admit
Something has finally forced it to the front — a conversation that said the quiet part out loud, a near-miss, or simply the weight of knowing this can’t continue
You’ve been too busy, too depleted, or too proud to deal with it — and now you’re out of reasons to wait
You understand what’s at stake — not just personally, but in terms of everything you’ve built together and separately
You want someone direct enough to tell you the truth and skilled enough to actually help you move
Through Relational Life Therapy, Brainspotting, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy…
We’ll identify exactly what’s broken, why it keeps happening, and change it. In days, not months.
For founders, executives, and high-achievers, a relationship in crisis doesn’t stay contained to the personal. It affects focus, leadership, and the bandwidth you bring to everything else. For many couples at this level, the financial and professional exposure of getting this wrong — or waiting too long — is significant. Addressing it directly and efficiently isn’t just the right personal decision.
Your relationship should be an asset. Let’s make sure it is.
How it works
Intensive couples therapy is designed to help you improve as separate individuals and a unit.
-
Therapy intensives help couples go deeper and get results faster. They’re for the couple who is really ready to address the problems they’re facing and take responsibility for their contributions to the dynamic. That way, we can get right to work and stay in that work until we’ve achieved legitimate change.
Rather than stopping and starting in 1-hour blocks every week, intensives allow you to set aside a larger chunk of time to do the deep work necessary to get to the root of the issues you’re experiencing in your relationship. This is a cutting-edge, research-backed approach to therapy. Our work together will be focused, in-depth, and personalized to you & your goals. For entrepreneurs and executives, this format makes sense — you block two or three days the way you’d block time for anything else that matters, do the work with full focus, and walk away with real movement rather than a recurring weekly appointment competing with everything else on your calendar.
-
We’ll start with a free consultation call. This isn’t a sales call — it’s a genuine conversation to determine whether this is the right fit for both of us. I’ll ask what’s bringing you in, what you’ve already tried, and what you need. I’ll also tell you honestly if I think a different approach would serve you better. Then, we’ll craft a custom package that includes:
Pre-Intake: You’ll complete a detailed intake packet sharing about your background, current challenges, and goals.
Intake Session: We’ll meet for an in-depth, 80-minute intake session to review additional information and create a detailed plan, including goals and outcome measures to ensure we can accurately track your progress.
Intensive Session(s): We’ll meet for the selected number of sessions. They can occur in-person in my office in Roseville, on-site at a vacation rental or other venue within 10 mile radius of Granite Bay, or online anywhere in CA and TX.
Post-Intensive Session: To measure your progress, debrief, and ensure you both feel well-equipped to integrate your new insights into daily life, we will meet for a 80-minute post-intensive integration session.
-
The recommended couples intensive package consists of 3 days, 4 hours per day and includes an 80 minute intake session, and an 80 minute post intensive integration session for $13,000.
Customized intensive experiences are available to meet the demands of your busy life and your goals.

A detailed intake questionnaire
Completely private, one-on-one sessions — this is your time, your work, your space.
An interactive intensive treatment workbook (much like a personal workbook to collect your thoughts before, during, and after)
A customized plan incorporating Relational Life Therapy, Brainspotting, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and talk therapy suited to your goals and desired outcomes
Specialized support every step of the way
Relationship stress doesn’t stay home when you go to work.
It affects how you lead, how you decide, and how much bandwidth you actually have for what you’re building. For business owners and executives, an unresolved relationship dynamic is a performance issue as much as a personal one.
Your relationship should be an asset. Let's make sure it is.
My approach
Relational Life Therapy (RLT) is a couples therapy model focused on conflict resolution, personal responsibility, and full-respect living. It involves both individual and couples work, encouraging each person to work on personal issues that influence the relationship as a means of healing the connection as a whole. RLT is known for its straightforward style—sometimes that means I’ll challenge you directly about behaviors or patterns. While this can be uncomfortable, it’s a powerful element of the growth and restoration process.
Marriage is a cycle of harmony - disharmony - repair. Often, partners don’t know how to repair, and the cycle never has a chance to reset—you become stuck in disharmony. I’ll show you how to repair and come back into harmony effectively. As you master that skill, you and your partner can naturally begin to live and move through this cycle, without getting stuck in conflict and disconnection.
most therapy teaches you skills. In our work together, I’ll help you deal with the part of you that won’t actually use those skills.
That means encouraging you to take accountability for your role in relationship issues and then equipping you with the emotional intelligence and insight it takes to actually put what you learn in therapy into action in your day-to-day life.
My services are available in-person in Roseville, CA and online across CA & TX, making it convenient for you to access care no matter your situation.
Interested in an immersive experience? I also offer retreats.
You can travel to the Granite Bay or Roseville, CA area for a therapeutic retreat, with sessions held in my office or on-site at vacation rentals within a 10-mile radius of Granite Bay.
A retreat isn’t just about therapy.
Your time here is designed as a full reset — not just the sessions, but everything around them. When you travel for an intensive, the distance from your day-to-day environment is part of the work. I've put together a guide covering how the retreat works, what to bring, and how to make the most of your time in the Granite Bay area beyond our sessions together.
-
We start with a consultation to confirm fit and build your plan, including the recommended length and format. Most retreats run two to three days, though some clients prefer a single intensive day repeated over time — we'll design whatever supports your goals best.
Each day runs three to five hours with breaks built in. You can expect a blend of Relational Life Therapy, Brainspotting, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy, customized to what you're working on. I may also suggest reflection or integration work to do independently between sessions.
After your retreat, a post-intensive session is available to debrief, track progress, and make sure you feel equipped to move forward. If you're currently working with another therapist, I'm happy to collaborate.
-
A journal or notebook for your thoughts and reflections.
Comfortable clothing for both relaxation and light activity.
Medications or supplements you take regularly.
A list of goals, questions, or concerns to address during the retreat.
An open mind and a willingness to engage deeply in the healing process.
Commitment to follow-up work with me or your regular therapist post-retreat to integrate and maintain your progress.
-
I encourage out-of-town guests to use their intensive therapy retreat as an opportunity to create a well-rounded, therapeutic experience. Once you book your dates, I’ll provide details on local accommodations, wellness services (like yoga and spa treatments), dining options, and other activities to help you make the most of your time here.
Take time to explore the beauty and culture of the Granite Bay area. After our morning sessions, you can recharge with outdoor adventures such as hiking the scenic Johnny Cash Trail or paddleboarding on the peaceful waters of Lake Natoma. Enjoy delicious meals at local favorites like Dominick's and Farm Haus, or unwind with a wine tasting at Casque Wines or Twin Rocks Winery. If you’re in the mood for history, a short drive will take you to the charming shops and eateries of Old Town Sacramento.
Take advantage of the local gems nearby to enrich your retreat experience:
about me
Hi, I’m Audrey.
I show up authentically, I tackle uncomfortable topics directly, including sex and finances. I don't dance around what actually needs to be said. Both of you will hear the truth — about what's happening, about your individual roles in it, and about what it's going to take to change it.
That doesn't mean harsh. It means honest. I bring warmth, humor, and genuine care to this work — and I believe that the most compassionate thing I can do is tell you the truth clearly, not soften it into something easier to hear but harder to act on.
I work with couples who are capable, high-functioning, and done pretending things are fine. If you want someone who goes deep fast and tells it straight — that's what I do.
The relationship you want is possible, and it doesn’t have to take months or years to get there.
You’ve already decided something has to change.
Let’s make sure it does.

-
Not at all. It’s a genuine 20-minute conversation to determine whether this is the right fit — for you and for me. I’ll ask about your situation, what’s brought you to this point, and what you’re hoping to accomplish. I’ll also be honest if I think a different approach or a different therapist would serve you better. No pitch, no pressure. Just a real conversation about whether this makes sense.
-
A couples intensive is accelerated therapy — designed to go deeper and get results faster than weekly sessions allow. Instead of fragmenting the work across months, you dedicate a block of time to do the real work in a concentrated format. Most couples accomplish more in one intensive than in months of traditional therapy. It’s particularly effective for high-achievers and entrepreneurs who want significant change without an open-ended weekly commitment.
-
Couples intensives work particularly well for entrepreneurs, executives, and high-achievers whose schedules don’t accommodate ongoing weekly sessions — but whose relationships need serious attention now. They also work for any couple who is done with incremental progress and ready to actually move. If you’ve been managing this rather than addressing it, an intensive was built for you.
-
I welcome clients from all over! If you’re interested in traveling to the Roseville, CA area for our intensive, your intake session will be integrated into your intensive sessions and the time will be added to your schedule. I offer sessions in my office in Roseville or on-site at vacation rentals within a 10-mile radius of Granite Bay. Contact me to learn more.

Therapy Intensives are more effective and efficient than normal 50-minute therapy sessions. Typically in a 50-minute session, there are at least 5-10 minutes of “check-in” at the start and usually, 5-10 minutes spent on “closing up” or “checking out” at the end of a session - Leaving only 30-40 minutes for deep therapeutic work. However, a 3-hour Therapy Intensive allows for 2.5 hours of depth work. That’s the equivalent of five 50-minute sessions or more than a month of therapy - in a single day!
-
It depends on what you're bringing in and how far you want to go. One day works well for couples addressing a specific issue or wanting to get a sense of the format. Three days is where most couples see the most meaningful and lasting change. I customize all packages according to my client’s needs, so we can decide what is likely to be best for you. That’s exactly why most high-achieving couples choose this format over weekly sessions. You block two or three days — the same way you’d block time for a board retreat or a critical off-site — and we do the work in a concentrated block. No recurring weekly commitment. No losing momentum between sessions. Just focused time dedicated entirely to the relationship.
-
Absolutely! Therapy Intensives work very well as an adjunct therapy. I would ask that you sign a Release of Information so that your current therapist and I can collaborate/coordinate to best serve you.
-
Therapy Intensives are not covered by insurance. However, if you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance company may reimburse a portion of the costs. It’s best to call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card to learn the details about your specific plan. I am happy to provide some helpful questions to ask your insurance during our consultation call.
-
A non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking your Therapy Intensive. The remaining balance is due on the day of the 1st Intensive Session.
-
Sessions are available online across CA or TX, in person in my Roseville, CA office, or at a vacation rental or other venue within 15 miles of Granite Bay.
